“Numerous studies have shown that, even if you have adequate exercise, leading a sedentary lifestyle — that is, sitting for more than six to eight hours [per day] — will lead to poor circulation and cardiovascular risk,” says Syed Peeran, MD, a vascular surgeon at Appledore Medical Group's Coastal Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, based out of Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
